The Wives of Herrick Hall is now YOURS šŸ’œ

my debut novel is officially out in the world!

It’s pub day, friends!

Today I am a published author.

Wow. It feels absolutely surreal to get to say that. I’ve been dreaming up stories since I was a little kid, but still today is something my younger self could never have imagined for us.

I am so proud to share The Wives of Herrick Hall with you. Wives is the first book I ever wrote, and I wrote it whenever I had snatches of free time to spare from my full time job (which, in the entertainment industry, isn’t plentiful). At the start, it was only a passion project, and I had no intention of it ever reaching others’ eyes. But the process made me fall more and more in love with writing and books, and so four years later, here we are. I still can’t believe it. I’m so excited for you to get to know Josephine and Nora better, as well as all the ghosts that live under Herrick’s roof.

Each and every one of you has supported me on this journey to pub day, and I am so grateful to know you. I’d love to celebrate with you in some way, shape, or form this week, so I’m sharing a few upcoming events I have.

But before I begin, I am obligated to insert a debut author’s plea that if you have read or plan to read Wives, rating the book on Goodreads and Amazon goes such a long way for authors to gain visibility and traction. So if you don’t mind sharing your thoughts when you’re finished, I would be so eternally grateful. (And don’t worry, I’m staying away from reviews, so feel free to rate/review honestly for you!)

Ok, with that out of the way, please join me in one of the celebrations below if you’re able to!

Join me on Instagram TODAY

At 1pm PT / 4pm ET today, I’ll be hopping on an Instagram Live with my publisher (@quillandcrowpublishinghouse) for a Q&A to celebrate Wives’ release. Please join in and ask any burning questions you might have!

There will also be a chance to win a copy of Wives at the end!

Party with me in Portland this Friday

If you’re in the PNW/Portland area this Friday, please consider this your official invitation to party with me at Grand Gesture Books. There’ll be a conversation moderated by author Jamie Pacton, followed by a giveaway (with three prizes!), some book cookies, and free swag.

Hope to see you there! xx

Chat debut year with me on Saturday

This Saturday at 9am PT / 12pm ET, I’ll be chatting with @utopia.state.of.mind and some fellow debut authors about all things books and publishing. Please join our live session and ask any questions you may have! ā˜ŗļø

Thank you, friends!

The road to publication was filled with more author dreams coming true than I possibly could have imagined (with some still yet to be revealed)—and that is all thanks to you and your enthusiasm for the book. So THANK YOU!

I am endlessly grateful to every single person who preordered Wives, every bookseller who has supported me and my debut, and every reader who messaged me to tell me how much they enjoyed the book. I never imagined this story would find its way to you, but I’m so very happy it has.

And for my last teary-eyed thank yous, I must give my sincerest gratitude to my agent, Vicky, and the team at Quill & Crow. Cassandra, Lisa, Alma, Fay, Tiffany, Stef, Matthew, Kayla, Matt, and Logan—thank you. Cassandra, thank you for picking up my book all those years ago and seeing the vision of what it could be. Lisa, thank you for lending your keen editorial eye and helping make the book the best version of itself it could be. And Alma, thank you for getting the word out and helping Wives find its readers. I am so freaking proud to be a Crow. šŸ–¤

Now off I go to cry (positive) and enjoy every moment of this day.

All my love,
-Julie xx

Oh! And P.S.! I will be back in your inboxes next week with something EXCITING! Maybe something cover-shaped for Death in Verse? šŸ˜‰ Who can say?!
