Happy 2026!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, FRIENDS! Debut year is HERE! I’ll keep this month’s newsletter short and sweet since we’re all still in the midst of holiday cheer.
This year, I have the incredible honor of sharing two books with you. I’ll be yapping about them here and on social media, but as a little re-introduction at the top of 2026, I thought I’d share some trope maps I had a lot of fun putting together (and then let you get back to your holiday festivities!).
THE WIVES OF HERRICK HALL (May 5, 2026)

If you wander into the grounds of Herrick Hall, you’ll find yourself in a sapphic gothic horror full of vengeful ghost brides, sinister servants, and a wlw romance (that was an utter joy to write).
Perfect for fans of classic gothic stories like Jane Eyre, who also love the romance and subtle snark of Jane Austen (but always kind of wished there were more girls kissing within their pages).
If that sounds up your alley, you can - if it tickles your fancy - preorder the book or add it to your Goodreads TBR today ☺️
DEATH IN VERSE (Fall 2026)

If you dare join Bronte Cade on her trip to the Radley School of Poetry, you’ll find yourself in a dark fantasy murder mystery, tasked with finishing a magical poem or risk being among the growing list of your anonymous murderous host’s victims.
If you love the gothic-imbued prose of Ava Reid or Margaret Rogerson, or a race-against-the-clock whodunnit, I hope you will give Death in Verse a try! It will be out this fall from Union Square Kids/Hachette, and more details will be coming very soon ❤️
MY TROPE MAP

It’s me. Always awkward, sometimes funny, often introverted, can likely be found in a bookstore or furiously typing on their laptop while nursing a large cup of tea. I’m also somehow turning 30 this year. Let’s be friends.
Before I started this writing journey, the thought that I would someday get to write books that someday people might want to read seemed so far-fetched and something that happened to people who were very much not me. I still pinch myself that a large part of my day is dreaming up new worlds and characters and stories, and that this year I will finally get to share these words with you. ❤️
2026 will be a fun and challenging year, and there are so many people I want to thank who helped get me where I am today. But if you are here and reading this because you are interested in my books - or you aren’t, but you know me and just want to show support - then I could not think of a better place to begin my thank yous than by saying THANK YOU!
Now let’s go kick some ass this year!
All my love xx

Pet pic tax of the month: my baby girl, Suki, on her 14th birthday. She has long complained about the insufficient number of dog beds in the house, so we remedied that by buying two more beds. She enjoyed tearing the wrapping paper to shreds.
